This May 3rd, we are pleased to revive a beloved SPPF tradition of dining together across several of South Pasadena’s most remarkable residences. Formerly known as a “Progressive Dinner,” the event returns under a new name, “A Moveable Feast”.
Familiar to many longtime friends of SPPF, this multi-house event unfolds as a lively afternoon and evening of wine, cocktails, entertainment, and chef-prepared hors d’oeuvres and dinner as guests tour the famed Buena Vista Street estates – South Pasadena City Landmarks Nos. 4, 17, and 41.
Thoughtfully designed to feel effortless and relaxed, this fundraising benefit replaces the high-pressure live-auction model with a gracious gathering among friends and neighbors. Made possible by a strong Foundation and an engaged South Pasadena community, we are delighted to welcome you to what promises to be an unforgettable experience. 3:00 – 7:30PM
Take a magical history tour and discover the wonders of times past. A secret underground swimming pool, a residential confessional, a private fire station, a steampunk boiler, and psychedelic windows all await! Our friendly tour guides will show them to you.

The Giddy Ostrich
38 Degrees Ale House & Grill · TYG Catering
Executive Chef James Boyle will design a market-fresh inspired appetizer reception at the Lucretia Garfield House, followed by an abundant, chef-crafted buffet dinner at the largest estate on the tour, the Emma Childs House.
The evening culminates with dinner on the expansive main floor and veranda of the estate, where tables will be arranged for a gracious evening of fine cuisine and conversation.
Guests will enjoy complimentary wines, signature cocktails, and refreshing spirit-free beverages throughout the afternoon and evening at each house to add a festive note to every location gathering.
Reserve a Table Option! Gather your favorite people and enjoy the evening side by side. Reserve a dinner table for 6 or 8 to ensure your group is seated together for conversation and the full experience, with no coordinating required. Each reserved table is welcomed with elevated florals and signage recognition. Chilled sparkling wine and glass flutes will be waiting for you at your reserved table, ready to pour.
Reserved Tables provide an enhanced level of support for SPPF’s preservation efforts. Limited availability.

The Howard Longley
$250
Stepping back into one of Greene & Greene’s earliest commissions, Howard Longley might recognize the moment when Victorian ornamentation began yielding to the emerging Craftsman style. His and Ada’s home stands as a transitional work, a quiet turning point that helped define a distinctly Californian architectural movement.
The Howard Longley Sponsorship honors those who value architectural turning points and new directions while still honoring thoughtful preservation. Showcase your support of SPPF programming with a quarter-page advertisement in our feature collectible program that will be distributed to all guests at the big event.
The Lucretia Garfield
$500
Perhaps Lucretia will join us for the party reunited with her President, proud to show him the home she so carefully planned. After fretting over costs in her letters to Henry Greene over 122 years ago, she could see now that the home has not only endured, it is even celebrated today and proved worth every penny.
The Emma Childs
$1000
If Emma were attending this soirée, she would surely step outside to regard the formidable brick and gables she chose with care. Having commissioned a residence of such weight and permanence, she would not be surprised to find it still standing with dignity, its steep roofs and Tudor lines unchanged by fashion. Seeing such a grand gathering would affirm the endurance she built into its walls.
The Foundation thanks Scott Feldmann, a longtime friend and supporter of SPPF, for generously contributing his time and talent to create the Moveable Feast logo that inspired this campaign and its design.
