I joined over a year ago and basically received a receipt from SPPF and that was it. I sent an email to the organization at that time, expressing disappointment in the dead links and lack of info on the website, and the response was that improvement was in the works and almost complete -- and that they would keep members in the loop. But 18 months have gone by and nothing seems to have happened. I would like to keep supporting historical work in our community, but I'm not sure what membership actually means, where membership funds are going or, really, what this organization does except raise funds. It seems that if indeed there are capital campaigns and meetings going on, there ought to be, at a minimum, a basic commitment to some kind of useful interface and communication with the community about your activities and specific goals, or a sense that membership means something more than just an ask for money. I want to see you succeed, but this is not an auspicious example of effectiveness.
